Through the ilight project, Immersion is developping new input devices that will support a more direct, natural and intuitive interaction. Based on the use of gesture (G), hand (H) and touch (T), the interfaces we are devising cover a wide range of applications, fully customized and adapted to your needs.
The tactile cube is one of the iliGHT project innovative results. It is based on a tactile manipulation performed in 3 dimensions, which allows to go beyond the single flat 2 dimensions surface associated with the classical tactile tables.
A wide range of applications can benefit from our multitouch technology, like 3D visualization or high definition 2D pictures manipulation and scaling. Our SDK offers a whole set of tools that help to quickly and efficiently integrate our system into your application.
The interface is entirely rendered in 3D, and as the video below shows, the Google Earth sphere can be manipulated in each direction with one or several fingers, which definitely makes the manipulation much easier and natural.

This movie illustrates a strategy game that relies on interactive drawing and 2D physics to solve complex puzzle games. Developed by Petri Purho, its principle is well adapted to our multitouch table which offers both the tactile intuitivity and a collaborative puzzle solving platform, mixing real objects (the fingers) and virtual objects (the hand-drawn shapes) into an interactive game board.
